The coronavirus pandemic has affected a large number of industries in every country, from tourism to the economy. Unfortunately, the education sector has not been left behind either. All classes in schools and universities in Spain have long been canceled and are held online. Especially worried about graduates and those who plan to enter this summer in universities. But do not be discouraged!
Today we will talk about applying to University of Alicante in Valencia County for foreigners in 2020/2021.
- “I want to go to the University of Alicante this year, but the coronavirus ruins all my plans!”
- “How do I apply now, if everything is online, who do I contact?”
- “The borders are closed, how will I get to Spain”?”
- “Hasn’t anything been canceled yet, what are the new enrollment deadlines there”?”
We hasten to reassure you, admission to the University of Alicante (and all of Spain) is not canceled. The dates of the entrance exams and the calendar of admission have changed, but the difference is not so big. So, let’s go through everything in order.
Dates of PAU entrance exams
The new dates for the entrance exams at universities in the Valencian District became known this week. PAU will be held on July 7, 8 and 9, with grades to be published as early as July 17. If you wish to appeal, you can do so on July 18, 20 and 21. Final grades will be posted on July 24. Admissions will be open from July 1 to July 28.
The second wave of PAU exams will be held on September 8, 9 and 10, and grades will be released on September 16. If you wish to appeal, you can do so on September 17, 18 and 21. Final grades will be posted on September 22. The enrollment for the second wave will be open from September 14 to 21.
Exams for those above 25 and 45 years of age: July 4 and 11 respectively. Publication of marks on July 16.
Graduate Admissions
So far, the University of Alicante has not provided information on whether the admission deadlines will be changed this year. However, there are no exams required for admission to the master’s program, so it can be assumed that the dates will most likely stay the same.
What documents are needed and how to apply?
Online application to a Spanish university is an absolutely normal practice, as more than 25% of students are foreigners. And they do not always have the opportunity to come to the country in advance and apply in person. The procedure is not very complicated, but there are some points to consider.
- For example, when applying to the Master’s program at the University of Alicante, the application dates differ for different directions. Some close as early as May, others at the end of June.
- .
- The number of documents you need to submit for admission increases dramatically if you are a foreigner. Especially if you are a foreigner from the CIS countries.
- The minimum set that you need to provide is your diploma (of graduation from school or university), various certificates, translation of documents certified by a Spanish jurado translator, etc.
- The country has good educational standards, universities are well-equipped, there are internships in real companies. Educational programs are defined not just for general knowledge acquisition, but applied knowledge of students and real experience, which they will be able to apply outside the university.
- Compared to other countries in Europe and especially the United States, education in Spain is relatively inexpensive.
- Prestigious sports teams at universities. Being an athlete in Spain and playing for your university often comes with various bonuses and incentives, even with admission.
- Get a residence permit. Legal residence with a student card for more than three years, gives the right to request a residence permit. This is one of the easiest ways to obtain a residence permit in Spain.
- And lastly, as a bonus to all of the above – the cultural and historical heritage of Spain, as well as a warm climate and the sea, which can be enjoyed all year round.
- Selection of study program, bachelor, master, language courses
- Assistance in obtaining a student visa
- Preparation and translation of documents
- Applying for admission to the University of Alicante
- Enrollment in the university
- Finding accommodation in Alicante
- Student card processing after enrollment
- Individual approach to each client and much more
.
Are you worth applying this year?
The situation around the world is certainly not easy right now, but Spanish authorities are already preparing for a gradual exit from the quarantine, which at the moment is officially in effect until May 9. More than 170,000 foreign students study in Spain every year. And now due to the pandemic, most of them have been forced to return to their home countries. However, after the end of self-isolation, Spain, like other countries, will seek to return to the usual life. And according to forecasts already by August it is possible to resume tourism in the usual form, and with it air travel. Therefore, we see no reason to postpone your dream of living and education in Spain!
